Kanesh vs Intercom

Intercom is a general-purpose customer service platform with Fin, a mature AI agent billed per outcome. Kanesh is designed for Shopify brands whose customers ask and buy on WhatsApp. Here's where each one fits.

Where Intercom is strong

What Intercom does well.

If these matter most to you, Intercom is a strong choice. Each point links to Intercom's own pages.

  • An AI agent billed on outcomes

Fin costs $0.99 per outcome, at most once per conversation. You pay nothing if Fin can't answer or the customer asks for a person, and a reopened conversation is refunded.[1]

  • Fin works with other helpdesks

You can run Fin on top of an existing helpdesk such as Salesforce, HubSpot or Freshdesk.[1]

  • AI for ecommerce, with order changes

Fin for Ecommerce syncs a Shopify catalog and order data, and resolves returns, refunds and order changes in the same conversation.[5]

  • Many channels, including SMS and phone

Chat and email are included; SMS, phone and outbound WhatsApp are billed on usage. Fin Voice is available through sales.[1],[2]

  • Enterprise controls

The Expert plan lists SSO and identity management, HIPAA support and SLAs.[1]

  • A self-serve trial

A 14-day free trial with no credit card.[1]

Switching

What moving from Intercom involves.

  • Your WhatsApp number

A number can only be registered with one provider at a time, so it moves from your current provider to Kanesh. We plan that step with you during onboarding.

  • Knowledge and saved replies

We load your policies, FAQs and saved replies with you during guided onboarding.

  • Shopify

Kanesh connects natively to Shopify: orders, products, customers, fulfilments and returns.

  • Past conversations

Tell us which history you need to keep. What moves, if anything, is agreed in your onboarding scope.
